EMR Program Director Permanent Travelling Consultant Job Description The EMR Program Director will oversee the various EMR Vendor solution Projects. This work may include implementation (not limited to installation or configuration), transformation, optimization, upgrades, and post-live application support. Responsibilities include: Scope of work: Depending on the client engagement, the EMR Program Director will be responsible for collaborating with team, EMR Vendor team, and client to: Be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day EMR Vendor project work Be responsible managing client executive (C-suite level) and sponsor relationships related to EMR Vendor project work Be responsible for EMR vendor relationships related to EMR Vendor project work Plan EMR Vendor project work Staff EMR Vendor project work Serve as role model responsible for the development of team members staffed on project Oversee and monitor execution of EMR Vendor project Transition EMR Vendor project work, as appropriate Management responsibilities Staff, manage, and maintain a high performing, diverse team Create dynamic work environment Understand and shape Client business needs into EMR Vendor solutions Collaborate with EMR Vendor and Client teams Evaluate, document, and provide feedback for EMR Vendor team members on a formal and ad hoc basis Basic qualifications 5 + years of EMR consulting experiences in similar consulting firms managing small to medium to large sized teams at large, complex provider healthcare clients 5 + years experience managing complex, multi-team EMR Direct responsibility over at least six month duration for 1-3 or more work streams Client interaction at the C-suite level Preferred skills Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and grow client relationships as evidenced by candidate's ability to identify specific examples. Demonstrated ability to managed EMR Programs consisting of mulitply work streams more than once or twice. Candidate must be able to discuss 2 or more relevant experiences with team sizes, durations, and client level interactions as defined above. Sales and Revenue managed numbers that are readily available and a track record of consistently strong numbers: Sales in the range of $2M-$4M/year (team sales; experience from start to finish in selling work, may be add-on in nature) at named provider organizations. Managed Revenue in the range of $2-$4M at named provider organizations Educational qualifications: Bachelors and/or Masters in Computer Science or Healthcare relevant field of study Additional Preferred qualifications: Recent experience directing an Epic program at an Integrated Delivery Network, Children's hospital, Academic Medical Center, significantly sized hospital system (e.g. more than a small community hospital) PMP certified Deep knowledge of the provider healthcare market Deep program management experience with one or more of the major EMR vendors Deep knowledge about future care delivery models including: Patient Centered Medical Homes and Accountable Care Organizations Knowledge about healthcare regulatory reporting and compliance Demonstrated ability to work with Physicians and other clinicians Executive level presence Professional skills requirements Demonstrated Ability to perform at a Senior Manager Level: Value Creator Demonstrated ability to drive to add value by maximizing benefits/value for client. Demonstrated ability to create and seize business opportunities by making key content and operational contributions when formulating and preparing proposals. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve poorly defined problems by generating insightful, innovative, and practical solutions to complex or unusual problems. Business Operator Demonstrated ability to organize and direct quality work efforts by providing and maintaining clear sense of direction and focus. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain client/customer ownership and commitment by strengthening long-term client/customer commitment by maximizing support from other parts of the organization. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and handle critical situations by anticipating and managing immediate and longer-term consequences when things don't go as planned. Demonstrated ability to negotiate solutions and resolve conflicts by driving for pragmatic solutions to issues that reinforce/support relationships and set appropriate precedents.
